Team Durant and Team LeBron meet this Sunday night in the 2021 NBA All-Star Game at the State Farm Arena
Team Durant will be coached by Doc Rivers and will not have Kevin Durant due to injury. However, the starting five of Team Durant features Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Bradley Beal and Jayson Tatum, The bench includes James Harden, Zion Williamson, Zach-LaVine, Julius Randle, Nikola Vucevic, Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley. This team has a good size and length, and there’s potential for solid defensive effort, but it’s an All-Star game after all, so who know if they will need to play D. The issue here is the lack of elite firepower and player who can create their own shots.
Meanwhile, Team LeBron is coached by Quin Snyder and has a starting line with LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic. This might be the best starting five in NBA All-Star Game history and, if that is not enough, Team LeBron has Damian Lillard, Ben Simmons, Chris Paul, Paul George, Rudy Gobert, Jaylen Brown and Domantas Sabonis. This team is absolutely loaded with elite level scoring and players who can takeover victory and dominate in what will be a crucial fourth quarter. Amazing how LeBron was able to snag all these players in the draft.
Usually, this is a good game to go with points, this is an exhibition match after all, both team are extremely talented and neither side will kill themselves to win. It’s a celebration and there’s not a ton of defense being played, at least until the fourth quarter. We should expect a tight game through three quarters, but there’s no reason for Team LeBron not win this game given all of the top tier players on its roster.
